Uncle of
                        W.P. 'Bill' Richardson

Thomas was the second child and
second son of William Pallister Richardson and his wife
Esther and was named for his maternal Grandfather,
                        Thomas Howey.

The couple's first son Robert had been born the previous
year, but was premature and died when he was only four
                        days old.

Thomas was born at the family home in West View, Usworth
on the 9th of August 1897. Great sadness for William and
Esther as Thomas too was not strong enough to survive
and died just an hour after he was born.

So for the second time, very sadly, William went to
register a child's birth and death on the same day.

Thomas was buried at Holy Trinity, Usworth on the 9th of
August 1897, the same day he was born, his burial was
recorded in the parish register and was carried out by
Alexander Begg, the Rector of Holy Trinity.    |
