Annie was born on
28th October 1903. Her parents were Leinan Gaunt
and his wife Isabella (nee Richardson) and her birth was
registered in the Chester le Street Registration
District. Her baptism took place on 17th
November 1903 and was recorded in the Primitive
Methodist Register for Jarrow Circuit. The record says
the family lived at 4 Manor View Washington and Annie's
Dad worked as a miner. Annie was counted in the census
of 1911 she was 7 years old and attended school.
The family were living at 8 Richardson Terrace, New
Washington. Her Dad, Leinan was 39 and worked in the
colliery as a hewer, her Mam, Isabella, was 41. Annie
had a brother and two sisters. Margaret (14), John (10)
and Ada who was one month old. Annie died
on 3rd May 2001, she was 97 years old. She is remembered
in the Sunderland Crematorium Book of Remembrance. |
