John Thomas Howey
John was born on
24th December 1911, the son of John Thomas Howey
and his wife Bell (nee Gordon). His birth was registered
in the Castle Ward District of Northumberland.
The 1911 census recorded John living with his family at
9 Riddell Terrace, Coxlodge, Northumberland. He was just
3 months old. His Dad, John Thomas (44) worked in the
pit as an 'onsetter' and his Mam, Bell, was 41. John had
two older ( much older!) brothers. Thomas (20) and
Joseph (17), they both worked in the pit like their Dad.
John died in January 1995, he was 84 years old and his
death was registered in the Newcastle on Tyne
Registration District. |
