Gilliland
Lenora was the
third child of Elizabeth Gilliland and her husband
William Robinson. She was born on 21st June 1895 and her birth was registered in the Auckland
Registration District. She was recorded,
aged 5, on the 1901 census at 18 Cold Knot Row, Crook
and Billy Row along with her family. Mam, Elizabeth, was
33, Dad, William, was 37 and worked as a coal miner.
Lenora had a brother, Ernest, who was 8 and three
sisters, Edith (9), Ethel (3) and Doris (1).
The 1911 census return showed that the family had moved
to Chopwell. Lenora was 15 and she worked as a post
office assistant. In the first quarter
of 1916, Lenora married Thomas H Cuthbertson, their
marriage was registered in the Gateshead Registration
District. Lenora died in the third
quarter of 1975, she was 80 years old and her death was
registered in the Brent Registration District. |
