Richardson's Great Aunt, Mary Ellen Gilliland
Annie was the
second child of John Moordaff Cape and his wife Mary
Ellen (nee Gilliland).
She was born on 13th May 1901 and her birth
was registered in the Auckland Registration District.
Annie was baptised on 10th Jun 1901 and
her baptism was recorded in the Stanley Methodist
Register. The Record says that the family lived at Front
Street, Sunniside and Annie's Dad was a miner.
The census of 1911 recorded her, aged
10, living with her family at Front St., Sunniside, Co,
Durham. Her Dad was 34 and he worked a a hewer in the
mine, her Mam was 36. Her younger sister Katie was also
recorded on this census, she was 2 years old.
In the last quarter of 1923, Annie
married John Haygarth.
