Sydney was born on
16th October 1892. He was the third child of
Thomas Ellison and his wife Annie (nee Lee) and his
birth was registered in the Auckland Registration
District. He was baptised on 10th
November 1892 and his baptism was recorded in the
Methodist Register for Wolsingham and Other Parishes,
Durham. That record says that the family lived at
Sunniside and that Sydney's Dad was an assistant
schoolmaster. The census of 1901 recorded the
family living at Milburn Street, Crook, Co. Durham.
Sydney was eight years old. His parents were both 35 and
his Dad was a school teacher. Sydney had two brothers,
Stephen (11) and Edwin (3). He also had a sister Mabel,
who was 9. Sadly, Sydney died in the
second quarter of 1903, he was just 10 years old. He was
buried on 3rd June 1903 at Crook Cemetery. |
