Richardson's Great Great Uncle, John Richardson
Mary Ann was born
on 1st June 1859 at Little Usworth, Co. Durham, she was
the second child of John Richardson and his wife
Elizabeth (nee Coyle). Her brother,
James, had been born in in 1857, but sadly only lived
for a few weeks. The census
of 1861 recorded the family at Inkermann Terrace,
Usworth, Mary Ann was one year old. Her father, John,
was 30 and worked as a coal miner, her mother,
Elizabeth, was 23. By the time of the
1871 census, Mary Ann was 11 years old. The family had
moved to Waterloo Terrace, still in Usworth, her Dad
was 40 and working in the mine. Elizabeth, Mary Ann's
mother was 33 and more children had arrived since the
previous census, Isabella (9), Elizabeth (5) and
Thomas was the baby at just two months old.
The 1881 census recorded Mary Ann, aged 21, working at
Lamesley North Farm as a dairy maid.
As yet, I do not have any informaton for Mary Ann after
1881. |
