Son of  W.P. 'Bill' Richardson's Great Great Uncle, James Howey

William was born in the third quarter of 1870, he was the fourth child of James Howey and his wife Dorothy (nee Hall) and his birth was registered in the Alnwick Registration District.

He was 8 months old at the time of the 1871 census, the family lived at Felton Mills, Northumberland. His Dad, James (34) worked as a cartman at the mill, his Mam, Dorothy was 31. William had three sisters, Elizabeth (6), Sarah (4) and Jane (2).

William's mother, Dorothy, died in 1879 when he was  8. then his sister Jane died in 1881, aged 12.

When the 1881 census was taken, the family were at West End, Amble. William was 10, his Dad was 44 and working as a coal miner. His sisters were Elizabeth (16), Sarah (14) and Esther (8).

Both William and his Dad, James, died in 1881, not long after the census was taken. William was only 10 years old when he died.
