Sarah was born about 1808 at Alnham in Northumberland. Her
parents were Roger Watson and his wife Esther (nee Rutherford).

Her baptism took place at Alnham on 4th September 1808.

Sometime around 1835 Sarah married Adam Howey, a farm worker from Eglingham.

On the 1841 census Sarah was recorded with her husband and their children at
Clennell, Northumberland, she was 33 years old . She and Adam had three
children, James aged 5, Charlot (who I believe was actually Esther) aged 3 and
Thomas who was the baby at seven months old.

By the time of the 1851 census, Sarah and her family were living at Silverside
Farm, Snitter in Northumberland where her husband was working. She was 42 and
had four children living at home Esther, Thomas, John and Jane.

As an agricultural worker's wife, Sarah moved around a lot as her husband moved
from farm to farm. By 1861 the family were living at Shawdon Wood House in a
farm cottage where her husband and three of her children were listed as farm
workers.

Sarah died on 29th January 1871 at Glanton, she was 63 years old and her death
was registered by her husband, Adam. She was buried on 1st February
1871 at Whittingham.
