Aunt of  W.P. 'Bill' Richardson

 

Margaret Pallister Richardson (Peggy), was the ninth child and sixth daughter of William Pallister Richardson and his wife Esther (nee Howey).

She was born on the 17th of March 1909 and was named for her paternal grandmother, who was also Margaret and had the maiden name of Pallister.

Margaret was baptised on 31st March 1911 and her baptism was recorded in the Primitive Methodist Register for Jarrow Circuit. The family lived at 29 Railway Terrace, Usworth and her Dad worked as a coal miner.

In 1911, when Margaret was 2, the family were recorded on the census at 2 Manor View, New Washington. She had three older sisters May (8), Georgena (7) and Esther (4) as well as a baby brother William P. who was three weeks old. Their father, William P., was 38 and working as a hewer in the pit and their mother Esther was 35.

Peggy did not marry. Just before she died, she was living at 2, Burnway, Albany Village, Washington.

Peggy died on the 24th August 1975, aged  and her death was registered in the Sunderland registration district.

Her funeral was on the 28th August 1975, followed by cremation at Sunderland Crematorium. The arrangements were made by her niece, Esther Robson.
