Son of
W.P. 'Bill' Richardson's Great Uncle, William Gilliland
David was born in
the first quarter of 1914, the fourth child of William
Gilliland and his wife Lily (nee Tweddell), his birth
was registered in the Lanchester Registration District.
His Dad was a coal miner and his
brothers and sisters were Mary (born 1907), Hugh (born
1909), Elsie (born 1912 and died 1913), Lily (born 1916)
and Grace (born 1920).
On 8th August 1942, David married
Catherine M Colven, their marriage was registered in the
Durham Central Registration District, David was 28
and Catherine was 27. David and Catherine
were to have three children , Peter Colven (born 1943),
Kathryn Mary (born 1945) and Moira Jane (born 1956).
David died on the 2th November 2003, he was 89 years old
and his death was registered in the Durham Central
Registration District. His wife,
Catherine, died on 18th August 2005, she was 90 years
