Grace was born in
the third quarter of 1916, the sixth child of William
Gilliland and his wife Lily (nee Tweddell), her birth
was registered in the Lanchester Registration District.
Her Dad was a coal miner and her
brothers and sisters were Mary (born 1907), Hugh (born
1909), Elsie (born 1912 and died 1913), David (born 1914)
and Lily (born 1916).
On 9th April 1949, Grace married William
Moffat, their marriage was registered in the Durham NW
Registration District. Grace and William
were to have three children: Heather (born 1951), Sheena
(born 1953) and Fiona (born 1959). Grace died on the
20th December 2006, she was 86 years old. |
