Information about Thomas is proving to be very difficult to find.

I do not yet know when or where he was born.

On the 26th April 1835, Thomas married Jane Olivant at St Cuthbert's Church in Darlington. Their witnesses were Ann Moore and R.H. Naylor.

Thomas and Jane were to have three daughters, Mary, Catherine and Ann and their baptism records show Thomas's occupation as an Iron Moulder.

Some time between the birth of Ann and the 1841 census, something went very wrong for this family. In 1841 Thomas was nowhere to be found and his wife and three daughters were in the workhouse.
