(c 1839  -  ?)

Great Great Aunt of  W.P. 'Bill' Richardson

Ann was born in Darlington in about 1839, the third child of Thomas Walton and his wife Jane (nee Olivant).

She was baptised on the 13th of December 1839 at St Cuthberts Church in Darlington.

On the 1841 census Ann was recorded with her mother and two sisters in Darlington Workhouse. She was 3 years old. I don't know what happened to her father Thomas or what happened for the family to be in the workhouse.

On the 1851 census, Ann was living at number 2 Bridge Row, Darlington and working ( at the age of 11) as a domestic servant for Benjamin Walton and his family. I have not yet been able to establish if Benjamin was a relative.

I have not  been able to find a record of Ann after the 1851 census other than she was a witness at her sister Catherine's wedding on the 21st September 1861.
